About: Amersham Vale Training Practice

There have been many instances now that the Klinik portal for this specific GP practice has shown severe administrative errors and as a result it is always difficult to get an appointment.

Friday last week, however, I was able to access the portal and receive a same-day telephone appointment (an unlikely occurrence). I was very surprised, as I would usually be waiting upwards of two weeks for any type of appointment, even for severe health issues.

I was called by [redacted- a GP at Amersham Vale Surgery] regarding some ongoing/worsening physical health conditions. This doctor in particular seemed very stressed, and was very short with me on the phone as I explained my symptoms. I was made to feel like a burden, and though I can appreciate the stress on NHS workers in 2025 I was merely trying to explain my symptoms and received a dismissive tone. I suggested that I may have needed antibiotics, as I had symptoms typical of a chest infection, and the doctor said: "Okay, I've put them through. Thank you, bye.", without any further arrangement for an in-person appointment. I thought this phone call was rather rude and displayed a lack of care for me as a patient, though I can also appreciate that we are all human and have off-days.
