"Phone first service"

About: Southern Health & Social Care Trust / Urgent Care Centre (Phone First)

(as a service user),

The phone first then appointment scheme in minor injuries is actually extending the time taken to get treatment  instead of the advertised saved time. We contacted due to metal getting in the eye, resulting in pain and inability to open the eye. Had to wait 30 mins for a call back then was given an appointment for 4 hours away, all the while a piece of metal was in the eye grazing the eyeball and causing potential infection.
