"Inability to recognise red flag symptoms "

About: Whaddon Medical Centre

Witnessing my husband trying to get an appointment with symptoms of extreme coughing and feeling breathless. Known by surgery to have respiratory issues. Not a regular user of service so this is exacerbation of his usual condition. Told no appointments left. Told to use 111. When he did this he got a telephone appointment with Dr from the surgery that 111 could arrange but for some reason receptionist could not!!!!!

Continued frustration with contacting surgery also with a non serious issue for my own health. Service has declined in contacting surgery.

Dear Loretta

Thank you for your feedback and your disappointment in not being able to get an appointment directly through reception, we do have slots that only 111 are able to access for on the day appointments following their triage, as they are ring fenced our receptionist are unable to access them, I will ask that our receptionist advise patients of this process.

Kind regards

Whaddon Healthcare
