"What an improvement!"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as a service user),

What an improvement! I ended up going to A&E after telephoning 111. Within 10 minutes I was triaged and told I would be called for an ECG soon. I waited about 40 mins, had the ECG and was then taken through to the Emergency Room where I was monitored and felt looked after.  I sat on the fit to sit area. On a previous admission, this had been a treatment area which was full of patients, and I sat for 12 hours as there were no beds.

I was seen within the hour by a lovely doctor who took great care to get to the bottom of my symptoms.

Whilst waiting for the result of my CT scan I was offered a packed lunch style bag. As someone who is gluten intolerant this was a challenge, previously and my husband had brought something from home.

This time I was given a pack of food with a whole range of gf products, including sandwiches, crisps and cake and a biscuit. A very welcome update.

The staff in A&E were kindly, patient and professional as ever, and waiting times were substantially lower than previous visits.
