My wife was brought in for an infection and kept overnight at Surgical Obs. She was worried, and is someone who likes to ask questions but is a polite person.
But she had a few surgeons that felt condescending or even threatening. One included a doctor advising they ruled out appendicitis - a typical thing to check for on the ward. When she then advised this to another set of doctors doing their rounds, they responded by telling her they could just cut her open and find out... which I feel has an air of threat to it, and for my wife, who is not that old, not in hospitals ever really, and worried what is going on, is out of order.
The ward are responsive and the nurses are great, but I feel the doctors need to seriously work on bedside manners.
"Some very poor bedside manners"
