I have a brain injury due to/tied to epilepsy. I have what is known as "emotional lability" - the inability to control emotions when pushed. This means crying over something silly on the TV. It also means completely losing it when pushed by rude and ignorant people. I live 99.9% of my life without any issues either way.
My health centre changed their appointment booking system to on line. I am over sixty and the brain injury also makes me like a mild dementia sufferer. I could not access this on line system. My carer took me too the practice to explain the problem. The woman on reception was remarkably un helpful and dissinterested. I could feel it coming inside me and warned her. Look at my medical history I said. If the conversation continues like this, I'll lose it. She didn't listen. I lost it.
This was followed by a tonic clonic seizure. Their first reaction was to call the police. Then to have me removed from the practice (that I've used for 20 years). All this despite my medical notes explaining that this could happen at any time.
Hopeless lack of care. I am not surprised that so many of the old GP's and staff have left and now practice at other surgeries. The chances of getting an appointment within days are slim to say the least. The levels of care have slipped remarkably in the past decade or so.
They should not have a licence in their current state (their last inspection was almost a decade ago - totally different then). They are unfit for purpose as primary care and have been reported for an official complaint as well as a request for a full inspection without delay.
"Epilepsy."
