"Hip surgery"

About: North Devon District Hospital / General surgery North Devon District Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was treated so nicely and warmly by the ladies and gents on jubilee ward.

Surgery day was tough lots of pain but the staff were brilliant. Mr Brunson explained surgery went well and was my job now to work hard to get better which I’m doing I think.

Day 1&2 couldn’t get out of bed because of pain in inner thigh when leg drops getting out of bed but once medication changed it helped me to get going moving in my own .

Physio team were great too Tom and his assistant helped me get on my feet .

On the ward longer than expected but definitely helped in long run.

Thank you all for your dedication and care x

Dear cassiopeiamn39,

Thank you for taking the time to post your response following your hip surgery on Jubilee ward.

It is always lovely to receive positive feedback.

I am so sorry about the pain you experienced on your first two days post-operatively and that you were unable to get out of bed because of it. Pain following hip surgery is predictable, but I am glad it got manageable while the medication has been changed.

I am glad that you were treated nicely and warmly on our ward.

I hope that your rehabilitation exercises are going well and may we all wish you a continued recovery and all the very best for the future.

Kind regards,

Ana-Maria Bacsik
