Taking the decision to have a family nurse when I was pregnant up until my child is 2 has been fantastic so far you really get to know each other during the pregnancy and talk about every detail big and little can talk about anything about pregnancy and baby, birth of baby , baby’s sleep ,weaning , behaviour and so much more which is something I loved to do so I knew how to look forward to the next step and enjoy it a little bit more.
Motherhood is so unpredictable and having someone you can ask questions get advice from is great as much as a family nurse is always good at talking through next steps next milestones etc they are brilliant at listening, listening to you about making your own decisions for you baby without judgement, looking out for the mother postpartum and talking about next steps for my career after baby is in nursery, talking about future children and so much more.
Overall I would highly recommend having a family nurse if you get a chance, I will definitely miss having mine but I have learned so much to take away from my experience with my family nurse and I now really look forward to having more kids in the future as I feel confident on the hard parts of motherhood and a big part of that has to do with my family nurse, she’s been amazing!
