"Very difficult experience"

About: Bpas (northampton)

I had the ultrasound scan at BPAS Northampton before a planned termination. I visited the clinic on my own and was in a very vulnerable situation which had led to my choosing termination. It was honestly a horrible experience. I found many aspects of the reception, waiting area and appointment itself at BPAS Northampton deeply insensitive and inappropriate, especially given how many people visit the clinic in very difficult circumstances. Amongst other things I was told I should consider anaesthetic for my procedure rather than my first choice of conscious sedation, so that (I quote) my distress wouldn't affect medical staff. Sadly when needing a termination there are not many choices of where to go, but I would highly recommend avoiding this particular clinic or at least going with robust support behind you, as it was unfortunately a very lonely and unpleasant experience that day.
