About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / GP Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

Unfortunately due to asthma my lungs don’t clear infection well, and I had the dreaded cough and wheezing and infection start over the weekend. I was starting to go downhill and feeling more unwell, though really wasn’t keen on a hospital visit. After my call with NHS 24 the OOH team at FVRH contacted me promptly within 30 minutes and the lovely nurse explained they could give me a select slot at lunchtime but really needed me in.

Everyone from reception, the clinical, the practitioner Lesley were efficient and I didn’t wait long at all on arrival, it was calm and organised. Lesley quickly got me sorted with antibiotic treatment, inhaler info, and even left a message with my GP asthma team for follow up care. Really pleased and back at home recovering.

Good afternoon Medic2,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of your recent visit to Out Of hours service, your feedback is valued and important in supporting our commitment to continually improving our service.

I was sorry to hear that you were unable to clear your recent infection that required you to call NHS 24 however I was encouraged to hear that you received a call back from the OOH team within 30 minutes and that you received an early lunchtime appointment. I was equally pleased to hear that you felt welcomed and that you received an efficient service from everyone and that Lesley was able to provide a treatment plan for you and arrange for the asthma team to arrange the follow up care.

I will share your comments with the team and Lesley as I know they will appreciate and value your feedback

I hope you are feeling better and that you are recovering well

Regards

Andrew McCall
