"Exceptional care"

About: Radiology / CT Service The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department The Ulster Hospital / Ward 4E (Gynaecology)

(as the patient),

I was in A+E recently experiencing the worst abdominal pain. I was told I would be kept in, be seen by gynae and get a ct scan etc.

Everyone in the A+E department were amazing despite how busy it was I still was so well looked after, but I have to give extra thanks to the wonderful staff nurse Nina who took great care of me during the night and went above and beyond for me whilst I was in agonising pain while on my own. She was so intentive, caring, understanding and done all she could to try help manage my pain and made me feel not alone. She was one in a million and deserves a special mention because I honestly don't know how I would of got through that night before I got admitted had she not been looking after me. She's truly a credit to the A+E department in the Ulster.

I am now recovering in 4e and the exceptional care has continued. Thank you for everything, especially to Nina, you are a wonderful nurse and anyone will be lucky to have you nurse them back to good health!!

Hi Jen1402

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience when in ED, especially when you are still recovering in hospital. It sounds like it was a very difficult time for you and it is good you received the support you needed.

I will share your kind comments of appreciation with the staff and make sure Nina is aware. She is a great nurse who is very much appreciated in ED by both the patients and staff.

I hope you are feeling much better and wish you all the best in your ongoing recovery.

Kind Regards

Jenny

ED Lead Nurse

Dear Jen1402,

I am heartened to learn that the exceptional care you received when in the Emergency Department has continued now that you are in Ward 4E.

You have clearly had a difficult and painful time recently.

I hope that your pain has significantly eased and the exceptional care continues.

Take care,

Pauline
