"My experience as a second-time dad with my baby receiving care at University Hospital Wishaw’s Neo-natal Dietetics Team."

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Neo-natal Dietetics Team

(as a parent/guardian),

Even though this is my second time becoming a dad, nothing can truly prepare you for seeing your baby with a CPAP mask on. It was incredibly upsetting and emotional. Despite having been through parenthood before, this experience brought a new level of worry and vulnerability.

I’ve always had trust issues, but from the moment we arrived at the neonatal unit, the midwives and staff have been exceptional. Their support, care, and professionalism have been a massive comfort to me and my family. Not once have I felt nervous leaving my baby boy in their care—and for someone like me, that means a lot.

They’ve gone above and beyond, even while working long and demanding hours. You can see how much they care, and I truly believe they all do an amazing job. Their compassion and dedication have made a difficult time so much more manageable, and I’m incredibly thankful for everything they’ve done.

Thank you so much for taking time to give feedback and we will make sure this is passed on to the whole neonatal team.

Our teams are dedicated to providing excellent care to all the family and we are glad that this was your experience.

Kind regards

Louise
