I was admitted to Victoria hospital, ward 52 with chronic pancreatitis. It’s not my first rodeo coming in this ward with this pain but sadly that’s what happens with pancreatitis.
I was lay in the bed shaking and holding my chest with the pain burning through me and my anxiety was going through the roof and this is when I had a lovely experience when nurse Ewelina came into the ward and comforted me, she calmed me down and promised everything will be ok and I will get through this. For some reason Ewelinas confident strong words of wisdom made me feel a lot at ease and put a bit of determination within myself.
During my stay at ward 52 all staff were fantastic and so welcoming as usual.
Ewelina was taking care of me, she was so professional and not only that she spoke to me like a friend instead of a patient which also once again made me feel a lot at ease. whilst she was doing that she was doing it with all of the other patients in the ward and she had everything totally under control with her professional multi tasking.
I was in pain a lot and Ewelina was keeping it under control. A lot of the time I didn’t have to ring my buzzer as she came through my bay just to just have a welfare check and make sure I was ok.
Ewelina didn’t always talk about my health, she spoke about my family with me and all sorts of things which raised high spirits and boosted my moral for the day.
I was so happy to have Ewelina as my nurse and she helped me a lot and also made my anxiety practically no existent.
Thank you so much Ewelina and ward 52 for your kind caring support.
