"Absolutely lovely throughout"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit

(as a service user),

I am one of those people who absolutely hate getting my bloods done.

When I attended my booking appointment I told the midwife that I'm terrified of needles and as I've had 3 miscarriages on the past, would it be OK to put off the bloods until the 12 week mark when everything was less risky. She agreed and was absolutely lovely throughout.

My scan was done at 12 weeks and the lady was so patient as baby was very active and it took about 25 minutes to get an accurate scan.

They are all hero's but my main compliment goes to Eleanor (I think) that took my bloods after my scan. She was so patient and understanding, got my bloods done first time - which never happens and had a wee laugh and a joke with us afterwards. Really appreciate her and I'd go to her for every blood test I ever have if I was given the choice.

Dear Zw33

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback.

I am delighted to hear that you felt listened too, supported and were an equal partner in planning your maternity care at what was an undoubtedly anxious time for you both.

I will share this with all staff, especially Eleanor who will be very happy to know their care has made a difference.

Take Care
