Attended a&e at Monklands hospital late last year. 2 weeks later admitted to orthopaedic/fracture clinic. It took 3 months to find out what, exactly, I had done. After CT scan, met Miss Philips, doctor & surgeon specialising in my injury. Ended up to be a scaphoid hairline fracture, required surgery asap. She had acted very quickly surgery took place just 3 days after seeing her.
Since the surgery, Miss Philips, Jamie & Diane from plaster room, and rest of the team took care of me. Been in mega pain after surgery, had to come back to clinic to get help, Doctor took me for overnight stay at Wishaw.
It's a shame I don't have a lot spare time round my work/personal life, I do really want to give back a bit of help by volunteering. The amount of time and help I have received is unbelievable, they do all deserve a pay rise definitely! Very kind and respectful NHS staff!
Currently, I'm on waiting list for physiotherapy. Scaphoid fracture has healed. It been 4 months in cast and 5 months since accident.
Thank you so much!
Never forget the help I received.
