Yesterday, I was in the hospital for a glucose tolerance test. After consuming the sugary drink for the test, I immediately began to feel unwell. A wonderful employee in the estates team must’ve noticed my distress and came and sat with me. We spoke for around ten minutes and it really helped to calm me down. It was great to hear more about the hospital and the great work of the volunteers in the cafe. She kindly offered to get me a sick bowl, which I needed to use about five minutes after she left, so I’m very grateful for her kindness and checking on me. I can’t remember her name but had worked at the Trust for 12 years, and in the NHS for 15 (if I remember correctly). If you can locate her, please pass on my thanks!
