"She was amazing"

About: Early Years Workers / Early Years Workers - Angus

(as a service user),

I was visited by early years practitioner Lynne after my daughter was diagnosed with suspected sandifers syndrome. This is basically very severe reflux, so it made it very difficult for her to enjoy and keep food down. She had developed a bit of a negative attitude towards mealtimes and eating. I myself felt at a total loss she was losing weight, and I didn’t know how to help her. Eventually she was put on the right medication, but I still wasn’t sure how to change her perspective around mealtimes. My health visitor referred me to the EYP and Lynne came to see us several times. She was amazing. She gave me so many strategies to use and help my daughter, and in a very short amount of time with the right encouragement and plan she began enjoying her food again. Lynne took the time to listen to me and my fears she reassured me and made me feel heard. She also gave me lots of positive feedback and after such a rough time with my daughter, I really needed that encouragement.
