"Concern, care and professionalism"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Cardiology Perth Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Perth Royal Infirmary / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I had to attend the A&E Dept at the PRI twice within a fortnight for a cardiac issue (angina and heart disease). I was also sent for an urgent  agioplasty procedure at Dundee.

My experience of all the staff, from reception, to assessment nurses, the on call Dr's, the Ward 5 nursing team, and the Cardiologists, was one of total gratitude. The level of concern, care and professionalism was very good indeed. I am grateful for all the nursing and medical staff who attend to me and listened to my medical issues.

Equally in my six days on the PRI ward, the support staff of cleaners, caterers was also highly commendable. I recognise that what I observed occurs through good leadership, management and care. Thank you to everyone who helped me.

Dear McNeil

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback about your experience in the A&E at PRI. I am sorry that you have had so many health issues recently but I am delighted to hear that the experience you had in the ED was so positive.

I will make sure that I feed your comments back to the PRI A&E team and I am sure that it will give a real boost to staff moral

Many thanks

Kindest regards

Dr Kirsty Tonge- Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Co-Clinical lead EM NHS Tayside
