"Very poor communication and aftercare"

My partner was admitted for day surgery. I was naturally very worried. On admission I asked whether the staff would contact me once she was out of surgery or whether I would need to contact the hospital- the nurses assured me someone would call me once she was out of surgery and took my phone number.

5 stressful hours later I contacted the hospital only to find that she had been out of surgery for a while and there was no communication for anyone to contact me at all. I had to then phone the ward twice more before I could find out any information about her condition. 

Very poor communication and aftercare, despite promises I would receive a call back, I have had to chase to have any communication at all. Disappointing.
