"Outstanding care"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Surgical Receiving Unit (Ward 4)

(as the patient),

I sought medical attention at Hairmyres Hospital following a consultation with my General Practitioner. Subsequent scans revealed issues with my gallbladder. The nursing staff in the Accident & Emergency department displayed exceptional attentiveness and professionalism during my visit.

I would like to express my gratitude to Pauline, who provided me with exceptional care prior to my discharge that night.

Unfortunately, the following morning, I experienced severe pain that led to a collapse, necessitating my return to A&E.

I am immensely thankful to all the doctors and nurses who promptly attended to me in a small ward within A&E, with a special mention to Mark who cared for me within the small ward of A&E.

It was heartening to see Pauline, who had cared for me the previous night, visit me during my subsequent stay. Thank you so very much Pauline for checking in on me the following morning as it made such a difference to me seeing you.

I was swiftly admitted to Ward 4, where I received treatment for severe inflammation and infection around my gallbladder from Dr. Brown and Dr. McMillan. The level of care I received from both consultants and the nursing staff was truly exceptional. I am truly grateful to all doctors and nursing staff.

Special mention must be given to Lorraine and Michelle, who provided food and drinks with utmost helpfulness and pleasantness.

Despite the inherent anxiety of being hospitalised, my experience in Ward 4 was nothing short of excellent.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the staff for their exceptional care and professionalism throughout my stay. You are all true angels 😇.

Dear castordb77,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Hairmyres.

I am sorry to hear of you illness and that you collapsed, what a frightening time this must have been for you! I am so glad that Mark and Pauline provided you with compassionate and attentive care on both occasions, and that Pauline popped in to check you were okay the next morning. That's such a nice example of a personal touch to care. I am glad that your consultants were also caring and knowledgeable. I imagine this was all very reassuring for you.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to all the staff who cared for you and I am sure hearing your lovely feedback will give them all a real boost.

I hope you are feeling better now.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
