I want to express my sincerest gratitude for the hard work and care provided by the team. I think the best review is directly from my son (who is under the care of the team). This is what he told me yesterday as I picked him up from the closing ceremony at the Oaks (which was from 4pm to 5:30pm).
He left the oaks beaming from ear to ear. He said he loved the day and what fun it was. He said that the people he met there who were also autistic came from the same point of view as him. He said that the boys in his school, who were neurotypical, simply felt like the most remote from him in terms of commonality but the guys he met at the oaks really seemed to "get him" and his sense of humour.
It feels like he met people from the same fabric as himself, quietly just understanding and accepting of each others nuances. This is just a valuable part of the NHS, I cannot thank you enough from what you do.
Please keep doing it as it provides such a life raft for people like my son who's everyday life can feel like turbulent waters at time - difficult to navigate and mapless!
