"Consultants surgeons Gardner ward "

About: Conquest Hospital

From the consultant surgeon sending me for a scan which identified I had cancer, to the colorectal surgeon who I apprently cannot name but is amazing and completes the robotic colorectal surgeries mk who completed a lengthy, complex robotic surgery to remove it, I have nothing but upmost respect and praise.

My stay at Gardner ward afterwards was faultless the staff were approachable and attentive and the stoma nurse team are amazing. This really was the worse time in my life, from diagnosis to operation but it was made so much easier by the care and service I received. To say the treatment I had saved my life is no exaggeration and everything happened so swiftly I know people complain about waiting lists and delays but from start to finish I felt everything moved so quickly and that. Everyone was fully focused on trying their best to get me the best outcome.

I’m still undergoing treatment via other departments, but my experience at the conquest was nothing but positive.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Special big up to Da Vinci xi robot which meant I had keyhole surgery with no complications and a great recovery, amazing bit of kit and a great investment by the trust.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such wonderful feedback about your experience of care, leading up to the care you received on Gardner Ward following lengthy and complex surgery to remove cancer.

The Trust is proud of its commitment to high standards of care for all patients, and so we are delighted to read this was your experience at every step of your care pathway. In addition to our focus on patient-centred care that is professionally delivered, we strive to underpin everything we do with the principles of kindness, compassion, dignity and respect, to assure patients we are here for them.

We are particularly pleased to read you found staff to be approachable and attentive, as this kindness can make a huge difference to patients at what might be a worrying or upsetting time. We are also pleased to read your recovery was aided by the fact you underwent keyhole surgery and that whilst you are undergoing treatment with other departments, achieving the best outcome for you was the main driver for all staff.

We will ensure your lovely words and praise are shared with the staff involved, and that Da Vinci gets a pat! We hope you continue to make a good recovery, and send you our very best wishes.
