"The care my mother received"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

My mother was transferred from Glasgow Royal infirmary 2 years ago following inflammation in her eye. She has suffered for over 60 years with her eyes and has had numerous Doctors and Nurses care for her over this time.

Since moving to Hairmyres Hospital the care and kindness she has been shown and given is nothing short of immense, every member of staff shows compassion, empathy and kindness which she hasn’t been used to unfortunately.

Within the Ophthalmology Department every Nurse went out of their way to help my Mother, from helping her in and out of rooms, holding her hand and guiding her, and explaining what they are doing to keep her informed.

The Department as a whole is a lovely caring place with Nurses always around to help, providing a positive experience where my Mother can be very anxious. Thank you for making my Mother's experience here a positive and happy one.

Please be assured that your comments will be shared with the the Opthalmology team and I am sure they will be pleased to read of the positive impact their approach has had on your mother's visits.
