My doctor referred my case in September 2024 as I was having terrible pain in my left knee and as the knee replacement in my right knee has always caused me pain and the inability to walk up stairs properly since it was performed 10 years ago and should this happen again if I needed a replacement in my left knee I would end up wheelchair bound. It is now nearly seven months since that referral was made and I have heard nothing from NHS Fife!!??and I am now experiencing pain in my hip too
I did wonder if they had even received the referral but a conversation about it with another department on the hospital it was confirmed that it was on the list.
Do I have to fall and break a bone because of the instability I have and end up in A&E before something is done?
Surely an initial assessment should be done shortly after referrals to prioritise whether action or what action should take place.
