"Kind and very caring"

About: Children and Young People Services / Child and Adolescent Mental Services

(as a parent/guardian),

My son is currently is under the care of Kerrie Marie from CAMHS. He has had about 4 appointments with her. He likes her very much. She is kind and very caring. I walk with him to the room and update her on how he has been and then I leave them to it. My son finds it difficult dealing with pressure, no matter how trivial it may seem to another person. He becomes withdrawn and shuts himself off from everyone. Kerrie Marie is trying to show him how to cope with anxieties and teach him to understand that it is ok to ask for help.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of attending CAMHS. We understand that it can be difficult for children to open up about the things that make them feel anxious. I am delighted to hear that your son likes working with Kerrie Marie. It's so important that he knows he can ask for help when he needs it. I will share your feedback with Kerrie Marie and with the wider team.
