"I think I was treated very badly"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as a service user),

I came to see the doctor as I'm going through menopause and I'm struggling with symptoms like hot flushes, sleepless and brain fog. I had phoned GP earlier and spoke to another doctor about the menopause and mole that I needed to check as it increased its size recently. Doctor said I'll need to come in to get my blood pressure and weight checked and then I could get my mole checked as well.

I got an appointment and waited about 2 weeks to finally come and see the doctor. The doctor checked my blood pressure, gave me prescriptions for hormonal patches and melatonin but refused to check my mole as they said it's only 10 min appointment and they can only discuss one issue per appointment. I need to wait another 2.5 weeks for another appointment just to get my mole checked. I think I was treated very badly.

Dear Another nsh victim

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience with your GP Practice. GP practices are independent contractors, and they have their own system for managing feedback, concerns, and complaints. They are not registered to respond to feedback received via Care Opinion.

If you feel comfortable doing so, I would encourage you to contact the Practice Manager to discuss your experience. If you need support navigating the complaints process, the Patient Advice and Support Service (PASS) is available to assist you. You can contact them by telephoning 0800 917 2127 or through their website: https://pass-scotland.org.uk/.

Thank you

Nicole
