"Telephone appointment "

About: Intrahealth Platt Bridge

On 28th April I was to have a telephone appointment and had 3 reminders that it would be between 10.30 and 12.30 . I waited the whole time with my phone near to hand but eventually at 1.30 I had to go out without getting a call or txt. I got a call at 2.10 which I missed as I was shopping and couldn't hear my phone ring. I will avoid telephone appointments in the future as I'm not happy with waiting 2hrs for the phone to ring and then to get a call a long way out of the allocated time. I know doctors are busy but a txt could have been sent to rearrange the appointment.

Dear Mrs McNerlin,

I am sorry to hear that you was told a specific time and that your allocated time was not adhered too. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It is our policy not to advise patients of a specific time as we cannot clarify when the GP will be making their telephone consultations. I will bring this matter to the attention of all staff and advise that they should let the patient know that we cannot guarantee a specific time on that day unfortunately. Please accept my apologies and I do hope that we can regain your trust in a telephone consultation being acceptable.

Kindest Regards

Ms G S Whitelock - Practice Manager
