"A credit to the NHS"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Clinical haematology

(as the patient),

I am receiving chemotherapy for liver cancer, however, they couldn't do the chemo on my most recent visit as my bloods weren't high enough (platelets and neutrophils).

I have to have another blood test, however the day that they normally do bloods on is a bank holiday. Amy, the staff nurse said that she would do it for me on the Tuesday and get them sent off ASAP. She didn't have to shuffle things around my convenience  but I would like to thank her for doing this.

I am so appreciative for this as it means that I now don't have to queue up at the Path lab.

She is a credit to the NHS.

Hi

Thank you for sharing this. It’s often the small acts of thoughtfulness that make the biggest difference, especially during such a challenging time. Amy’s kindness and willingness to go out of her way for you is truly heart-warming. She is a dedicated and compassionate professional—absolutely a credit to the NHS and I will share your lovely kind words with her.

Wishing you strength and comfort as you continue your treatment.

Best wishes
