"Good old fashioned nursing care"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 21-23)

(as a service user),

I was recently a patient in Ward 21, RAH. As an ex-nurse I felt very welcome within this ward and knew I would get good care. The staff were very attentive and understanding.

The ward was very busy and they had a challenging patient opposite my bed. The staff handled the situation with compassion and sympathy. Particularly Tegyn and Jackie who were very attentive.

After my surgery, I was moved beds to make it easier for me mobilising. Blair the physio was excellent.

I would like to give special mention to Nadia, Amy, Angeline and Taylor. All lovely nurses and kept me going through a lousy time.

Hi Anofw64

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback for Ward 21, RAH.

It is inspiring to note when a patient recognises staff showing sympathy and compassion as this is the standards we would hope that our staff display. Dealing with challenging patients can be difficult for staff and for their fellow patients, so it is also welcoming that you have also noted the care these patients deserve.

I will pass on your message to Tegyn, Jackie, Nadia, Amy, Angeline and Taylor who will be delighted that their level of care has been recognised.

Wishing you a speedy revery.

Regards

Susan
