"Care and Support"

Sadly, my husband passed away on 9th April 2025, at home where he wanted to be and where our children, grandchildren and close friends were free to visit often and when they were able to taking into consideration work commitments.

Unfortunately, this was my second personal experience of District Nurses attending to a close family member of mine, at home, following a diagnosis of terminal cancer and I can only say that Mansfield District Nurses, in particular, stood out for me. Their professionalism, compassion, empathy, level of care and support were nothing short of outstanding in my opinion.

My husband could not have died at home without the care and support delivered by Mansfield District Nurses and, as his main carer, it was reassuring knowing they were only a phone call away 24/7, and when it was necessary for me to call them (day-time and night-time), their response to my call was immediate and follow-up visits was always timely.

I will forever be grateful to the District Nursing Team (and Charlotte, Palliative Care Team) for ensuring my husband died comfortably in his home, the place he loved the most, as opposed to an unfamiliar Hospital Ward or Hospice.
