"Impressed with their serious approach"

About: Trauma & orthopaedics / Orthopaedic Outpatient Department

(as a service user),

Ongoing plantar fibromatosis(chronic) in both feet over the past 4yrs+.        During the first month's of Co-vid I had to submit a personal referral and a request for help due to considerable heel pain and inability to walk any real distance at all.

After considerable delay a scan of both feet within the first 6months was arranged at the PRI. Eventually, an appointment was offered at Ninewells Hospital and offered EWST over a series of scheduled treatments amounting to, in total, approximately 6 mins treatment (overall). The follow-up at the PRI involved 3 separate steroid injections over the ensuing month's on one foot only (different area's of the fore-foot). Nothing was attempted with the other foot despite the evident diagnosis. Over this period and with one more scan in one foot(again) to reassess the earlier diagnosis, it resulted in one more steroid injection for..'Mortons Neuroma'?-no change!

Finally, I spoke with my GP and I received an appointment with Trinn within a short space of time. The resultant conversation and review proposed an early MRI, full reassessment and a detailed examination to determine the best outcomes.

For me, I was impressed with her serious approach, the concern she demonstrated and her attitude to what has been my ongoing experiences and frustrations to- date.

I would further seek to add that she impressed me with her concerned approach and willingness to pursue all opportunity to better assess the situation and endeavour to reduce the deterioration by pursuing a renewed review and hopefully, a better outcome after all this time and ongoing discomfort.

I am truly grateful. Thank you Trinn
