When I first began working with the employment support team, I was originally supported by Andrew, who helped me secure the job I started a month ago. Andrew treated me like a capable professional rather than focusing on my disabilities, which made a huge difference to my confidence and self-belief. After Andrew moved on to a new role, Annie took over as my Employment Specialist, and I continued my journey with her support.
Although I really enjoyed my appointments with Andrew and was initially worried about the change, Annie immediately put me at ease. She took the time to genuinely understand both my mental and physical health conditions.
Annie’s approach was thoughtful, compassionate, and empowering. She helped me build a detailed Wellbeing Action Plan and In-Work Support Plan that addressed my specific needs in a very practical way. We worked together on planning reasonable adjustments, developing strategies for maintaining my wellbeing at work, and setting personal and professional boundaries. She also helped me feel empowered to advocate for myself, which I have found incredibly helpful and important.
Throughout the months of waiting to start my new position, Annie continued to support me with regular check-ins, structured guidance, and encouragement that kept me positive and focused. She helped me build my confidence and regain a sense of control over my future.
Thanks to Annie’s guidance, I entered my new role feeling confident, well-prepared, and supported. I am deeply grateful for her care, expertise, and dedication, and I believe her support has set me up for lasting success in my career.
