"I left the appointment feeling really good and relaxed"

I arranged an appointment for a Mirena Coil. I previously had a coil in 2010 and it was very challenging having it inserted and was done under GA. I have had difficulties with smears being done in the past. I was quite nervous attending my appointment due to my history. I was also late as there were roadworks so was quite anxious on arrival.

Dr Lata could not have been more welcoming. As soon as she introduced herself I felt at ease. I really liked how she came and took me through to the appointment herself as those few seconds let me get to know who I was seeing for the procedure.

I was very tense and was very anxious about how uncomfortable it would be. She carried out the procedure so effectively and gently. Once the speculum was in I didn’t really feel anything else and couldn’t believe it when she said the coil was in and that was it finished. It took around ten to fifteen minutes.

I didn’t find out what the nurse was called but she was wonderful as well and was so kind to me. I left the appointment feeling really good and relaxed and couldn’t believe how well it had gone. Thank you so much to you both for your care and kindness.
