"Nothing but praise for the staff"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

My son fell out the loft hatch and cut back of his head. Would just like to give a big thank you to the staff at A&E and resus department at Wishaw hospital from the moment we arrived and they seen the distress and pain my 5yr old boy was in. We were took right away because of the head injury. The nurses and doctors were extremely good and patient and that helped settle him and me and my wife. Everything was checked and sent for scans to be sure. I am gutted I never caught the name of the nurse who was with us because she is a saint. I know these departments get a lot of stick from time to time but my experience was outstanding and  I have nothing but praise for the staff on this occasion.

I am sorry to hear that your son fell, hurting his head, and had to attend hospital. I am delighted that the patience and kindness of the staff helped your son to settle and that this must have also been very reassuring to you and your wife. As a parent myself I can only imagine how frightening this must have been for you all. I am so pleased that he was quickly assessed and checked over.

I will ensure your kind words are passed onto the whole team and I am sure they will all get a real boost in hearing your lovely feedback.
