"My cararact operation"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I arrived for my op and was made to feel very welcome. The nurses were very pleasant and helpful. I felt safe and confident in their hands. Dr. Jamieson and the theatre staff were equally friendly and very competent. The op went well and I saw immediate results. I could see quite clearly out of the eye he operated on. I am so grateful to them all.

The only recommendation I would make is that they gave me written instructions on what to do immediately after the op, and although they told me some of the things to do or not to do, there were a couple of important things they didn't tell me thinking I would be able to read it. However, by the time I managed to read the leaflet, I had already gone against two of the directives: I had taken off the guard and put in the eye drops as soon as I got home as my eye had started to hurt. I didn't realize I should have waited till the next morning until I read the leaflet. I hope I haven't hindered the healing process. I still have good vision in the relevant eye.
