(as a relative),

Dad has recently been admitted to long term care. Before he was admitted we were really pleased with the fantastic services we received from care at home, dementia support, Stevenson day care and Anam Cara respite unit, these services all helped us to look after dad and keep him at home for as long as possible. 

Support from social worker to transition to long term care was exceptional - we are very grateful to everyone.

Accessing services before entering a permanent care home placement is crucial because it allows for a comprehensive needs assessment, explores alternative care options, and would have ensured your father receives the most appropriate and personalised support.

We are very privileged to have been part of this process and we will ensure that your kind comments are passed on to the relevant services.
