I was submitted to the new NTC orthopaedic Fife, for a knee operation.
All went well, when returning to the ward I was greeted by the staff, who could not be more helpful.
On the change of shift (night Shift) there was a drastic change, on the service being provided, when I queried what the problem was, I was informed that there was a shortage of staff, as management had removed nurses from our wards, as there was 13 post-op patients in the ward the nurses were run off there feet, as we were all buzzing for attention, for pain killers, toilet bottle, or help to toilet.
With the small crew that was left on the ward, the service became irritating both for the nurses and patients, as patients were left in pain, and bed wetting, as there was a shortage of nurses left on the ward.
When patient are in hospital for major surgery the need better care than was provide that night.
