"I had an amazing midwife"

I had a pretty traumatic birthing experience for my first, with very bad back labour and a lot of blood loss.

I had an amazing midwife from when I came in called Lucy. She was absolutely brilliant and put me at some much ease and helped me in every way possible and kept reassuring my partner how everything was going. She has such a calming sense about her. One Lucy finished her shift, we had Laura (Blonde Hair) come in until our baby boy was born. She once again was also absolutely amazing!

She went above and beyond for us and took in all our concerns and decisions we had and talked us through everything that was happening, especially when it came to difficulties when it was pushing time and there were so many nurses and doctors in the room, that it just made me even more anxious. Even though I kept telling her that I couldn't do it, she was constantly re-assuring me that I could and that it would all be worth it in the end. Which it massively was! Our beautiful boy was born.

After the birth and in the hour following, Laura was just outstanding in helping my partner with feeding our little boy as I was being seen to as he was like a deer in headlights. She constantly asked how I was afterwards and complimenting our boy. 5 days later, I got to go home and we called into the delivery suite with some gifts and cards for the girls. It was the least we could do after what they had done for us. From start to finish the midwives were just outstanding and it made my tough and difficult labour and birth that bit better. My partner and I just want to thank the nurses again for everything they done for our family. We really do appreciate it and the girls are just a credit to you all!

Dear LuOLCr,

Firstly congratulations on the birth of your son, hearing of your previous traumatic experience and how this experience was made magical by two of our midwives is just amazing. I am sure your anxiety was raised throughout and to feel safe and secure with both Lucy and Laura is what being a midwife is about, I am proud to work alongside both girls and will personally let them both know of this positive feedback.

Thank You.

Regards
