"CGL Problems after Problems"

About: CGL Birmingham / Central & West Hub

(as a service user),

Right so a few years ago I was under drug services in Liverpool and all was well... then cgl took over... I used to do some begging in Liverpool and the key worker I had from cgl didn't like this they tried to take me off of subutex to put me on methadone and told me that I chose to do all of this.

Not only that but they also started following me around and walking past where I was begging staring at me as they did. Then when I said I'd report it to the higher ups I was chased out of house and home. I lost my flat and had to run away to a different part of the country.

I'm now with CGL again and I'm experiencing similar issues from young inexperienced people, wild accusations and accused of not telling the truth. People don't want to hear my truth, I certainly won't be wasting my energy. I'm at a brick wall with this, can't move forward if nobody will accept what I'm telling them.

Dear Idunno

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

My name is Lydia and I am responsible for listening and responding to feedback about our service.

I was sorry to read about the struggles you have had with our support, both in the past and more recently. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be feeling, not being able to move forward in the way that you would like or hope to.

It sounds like you have had a really tough time and I have discussed your feedback with the Services Manager at the Central & West Hub. If you would welcome this, we would like to try and support you to have some of the concerns you have raised in your feedback addressed.

If this is something you would be open to, please do contact me on 07717715273 or if you would prefer, you can send me an email to lydia.broom@cgl.org.uk. Being able to speak to you directly will allow us to listen to your concerns in more depth and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges you have faced.

I hope that sounds okay?

Thank you once again for letting us know about your experiences, and I really do hope to hear from you soon so that we can work together to ensure you receive the support you need to move forward in your recovery.

Best wishes and take care,

Lydia
