"Fractured femur and rehabilitation"

About: Loane House / Ward 1

(as a relative),

After a simple fall in her kitchen, my mother - who is in her late 70s - had to go to A&E ,discovered she had a fractured femur after 4 day git surgery and the 4 days later she went to Loane House Dungannon for rehabilitation after surgery for a fractured femur.

Where as a family we were informed personally by phone by the amazing Patrick, sister in charge of mum's needs, and how settled she was also as one of us work shifts informed us they could visit outside visiting hours that would work around our work pattern.

Mum was looked after brilliantly from sister, Nursing staff, HCA staff ,physical therapist, domestic staff, all amazing friendly and helpful people. We want to thank all the staff of ward 1 Loane House for their care of our mum.

Special thanks to Patrick, Louise, Amela, Claire HCA, and the domestic staff day and evening - their names unfortunately I didn't check. You all made my mum's stay enjoyable and productive.

Thank you all and you all do an amazing job.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent admission to South Tyrone Hospital Ward 1.

It is delightful to read how you have described the staff their professionalism as a team alongside effective communication. This reflects on the care your mother as received, high quality person centered care.

Our Domestic staff do a terrific job at maintaining a high standard of cleanliness as do our nursing teams and also are friendly and caring towards our patients.

I will ensure to share your kind feedback with the team.

I hope your mother continues to rehab on return home.

Kind Regards

Donna O’Neill

Senior Nurse
