"Ongoing joint pain and loud sound coming from knees"

About: GPs in Stockport Integrated Care / Community / Community Neurorehabilitation Service / CNRS

(as the patient),

Ongoing joint pain and loud sound coming from knees after I was in coma, and neurosarcoidosis diagnosis since early 2023. I did have physical therapy and I started to stand and walk again but absolutely not like before and still have a lot of pain and my physical therapist was referred me back to my GP clinic to do some investigation like X-rays.

So the outcome from GP was they don’t do anything and just explain they can’t do anything for the sound and for pain. I ask to keep taking pain medication I was prescribed from pain management clinic, but felt they didn't care at all. In their final report they mentioned about the sound and pain and after examining my legs they found one leg still weak , but without taking any action or asking for any X-ray to find out what going on and what will happened after time with my poor knees.

Now still waiting for referral to MSK I think from the same GP but I haven't heard anything, so my only choice is my neurologist who can help me with referral and guide me to right service as he done that in the last 2 years. He is amazing and I will not forget how much he cares and knows about my condition.

Sorry about this I know it’s long but I tried my best to summarise it .

Thanks.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback. I am sorry to see that you have had to wait for a referral to support manage your pain and condition. As the issue is related to your GP we would be unable to liaise with the GP on your behalf. However, I would suggest you contact the Practice Manager and ask for them to speak to the GP and see how your referral can be made or indeed prioritised as they are the first point of contact for any GP concerns. I am sure they can support you with this matter.

I am pleased that the Neurologist has been on hand to provide you with some support and advice. I hope you get the referral you need soon and you get the intervention you require to ease your pain.

Kind regards,

Aoife Isherwood
