"Hernia surgery"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / General Surgery

(as a service user),

Been waiting over 1 year for Hernia Surgery. Almost housebound and in 24 hr pain.

Hospital staff seemed to be too busy sending each other for tea breaks and I heard some personal arrangements being made during work hours.

Dear orangedt47

Thank you so much for taking the time to share feedback on your healthcare experience with us via Care Opinion.

I am so very sorry to read about the situation you have described. Please be assured that this is not the person centred care that we strived to provide within NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

Whilst we always aim to provide care that is safe, caring and respectful, we do recognise that sometimes we get it wrong. When we do, we are committed to learning and improving and hearing experiences, good and bad, directly from our patients is one of the best ways for us to capture this valuable feedback.

I appreciate that this situation must be very frustrating for you, however it is difficult for us to look into specific concerns raised in this way as Care Opinion is completely anonymous. I can confirm that have highlighted your comments to the Service Manager for Surgical Services so that your experience can be shared for reflection and learning.

Please accept my best wishes and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
