"Extremely Frustrating Experience with Postnatal…"

About: Hook Surgery

I’m very disappointed with the service at Hook Surgery in Chessington. I’ve been trying to book my 6-week postnatal check for both myself and my baby, but despite multiple attempts, I still haven’t been given an appointment.

I called the surgery several times, and each time the receptionist told me they would call me back to arrange the appointment — but no one ever did. I even walked into the surgery on two separate occasions to try and get booked in directly. Again, I was told I’d get a call back, and again, nothing happened.

Now it’s the end of my 6th week postpartum and I went into the surgery once more, hoping to finally get things sorted. Yet again, I was told they’d call me that same day to book it in — and still, no call. This has been incredibly frustrating and upsetting, especially as my baby’s first immunisations are due at 8 weeks and I’ve been left completely in the dark with no communication from the surgery.

It’s disappointing to receive such a lack of support at a time when clear guidance and timely care are so important. I honestly don’t know what to do next.

Dear Patient, I am very sorry that this has happened to you, this is not normally how we would deal with these appointments. Please can you call us and ask to speak to the office manager so we can get this booked in for you.
