On Monday 21/4/25, I went to Boots Opticians in Burnley with an eye problem. Although it was Bank Holiday, I received exceptional service from them and was referred to the Urgent Eye Care Unit at Burnley General Hospital. First thing on Tuesday morning, the next day, I was contacted by the Eye Care Unit and given a 6pm appointment for that day. I attended and was seen on time by a nurse who put me at ease and carried out initial tests and treatment. I was then seen by an eye doctor who carried out a thorough examination in a very professional but friendly manner. Although he was happy with my eye, he referred me for a photographic procedure to absolutely make sure there were no hidden problems that he could not see. At 8.42am today I was contacted by a the Eye Care Unit at Blackburn Hospital and given an appointment for Monday afternoon to have the photographic procedure done. At a time when the NHS is constantly under scrutiny and criticism, the service I have received has been above and beyond the norm and all the staff have been amazing. I would have mentioned their names if it was allowed. Thank you for your exceptional treatment!
"Fantastic service all round!"
