To the A&E Team at Barrow-in-Furness General Hospital,
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding care I received from your Accident & Emergency department earlier today.
This morning, I accidentally sustained a deep cut to my thumb while opening a can. After contacting NHS 111, I was promptly referred to your hospital within the hour. Upon our arrival at A&E, we were warmly welcomed by a kind and helpful receptionist who immediately put us at ease.
I was quickly assessed by a junior doctor, whose professionalism and compassion were greatly appreciated. Following this, I was referred to a senior clinician/Dr who performed wound closure using a technique involving 9 sutures, carefully and accurately securing the tissue. with remarkable precision and care. His excellent bedside manner made the experience far more comfortable than I had anticipated.
I would also like to extend my thanks to the senior nurse, who expertly bandaged the wound and clearly demonstrated both skill and experience. Throughout my visit, it was evident that the entire team was not only highly competent but also genuinely passionate about their work. The department was well-managed and operated efficiently, and the overall atmosphere was one of teamwork and dedication.
While I understand that the nature of emergency care can be challenging and unpredictable, my experience today was truly exceptional. In times when media coverage may not always reflect the dedication of NHS staff, I want to highlight just how proud and reassured I felt knowing such professionals are at the heart of our healthcare system.
Thank you all once again for the exceptional care and for the work you continue to do each and every day.
Please can you forward this to the team involved.
"Incredible teamwork and dedication"
