"How Nant Y Glyn mental health service failed me"

About: Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Nant-Y-Glyn Resource Centre

(as a service user),

I had been under the care of Nant Y Glyn since I was 18 and am now 30. They failed me in every single way to the point that my mental health was so bad I had to quit my 10 year job with the Government. I received no help except medication, I was always told that the therapy was a 3 year waiting list and never was put on that waiting list as I had requested many times.

When I called to ask for another assessment because I wasn't happy with a diagnosis I was told no and that I will stay on my medication for the rest of my life. I have been in every antidepressant and nothing has ever worked for me. I called many times and begged for help but they did not care.

I moved to England last year because I couldn't not work or look after myself for the rest of my life. When talking to a mental health nurse of my treatment she was shocked and suggested I have been a victim of medical bias due to my diagnosis.

I have received more care in a year of being in England then I ever received from Nant Y Glyn.
