Thanks to Trish and Georgia of the RCDS team Victoria Hospital for the great service given to me following a GP referral.

I of course was slightly concerned that I was given a referral to a cancer unit. My fears were all put at ease by the care given to me by the staff.  Not only was the patient care first class the speed of service was excellent. Within the space of a week I was given a CT & MRI scan and had the results.

Thanks to the RCDS unit, you certainly live up to your name of Rapid. Although I was given the all clear for cancer the scans highlighted some other medical issues which are being investigated.

I’m glad to hear that your fears were eased so thoughtfully by Trish, Georgia, and the wider team. The uncertainty and worry that can accompany any referral particularly to a cancer service should never be underestimated. It’s heartening to know that you felt supported, seen, and cared for throughout, and that the speed and quality of care helped bring reassurance at a difficult moment.

Your reflections speak to what matters most in healthcare: not only clinical excellence, but the human connection that underpins trust, safety, and dignity. I will make sure your feedback is shared with the team. It will mean a great deal to them, as it does to me.
