"Looked after my husband with compassion and dignity"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Medicine for the Older Adult (Wards 14,20,22) University Hospital Monklands / Speech and language therapy

(as a relative),

My husband was recently admitted to hospital with a suspected stroke.

We have no family history of stroke, and no experience with this type of illness in our wider friend group. It was such a scary time.

Pauline and her nurses looked after my husband with compassion and dignity. The entire multi-disciplinary team from speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses and domestics did all they could to make a completely scary time much better.

They are a credit to NHS Lanarkshire and their care was so appreciated.

Dear Neeny,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Monklands, Medicine for the Older Adult.

I am sorry to hear that your husband suffered from a stroke, I can only imagine what a worrying time this must have been. I am glad all our staff were able to provide excellent care to your husband and reassurance to you both.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the whole team who I am sure will get a real boost in hearing your feedback.

I hope your husband is recovering well.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
