"Hadn't explained a thing to me"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I came into clinic about endometriosis. I stated many times I can’t have hormonal birth control due to migraines and personal beliefs, which was wrote down as religious beliefs, and even then was still pushed to take the coil!

I actually had to get into an irate state to be listened to, the staff member I saw had not explained a thing to me and I felt that they used my trauma from being sexually assaulted against me. They pushed on every single one of my triggers, I believe in response to my questioning them as I wanted to know what’s happening to MY body!

Good morning,

Thank you for your sharing your post about your recent experience with the gynaecology services at Stepping Hill. I was sorry to read about how your appointment went for you.

If you feel it would be helpful to discuss further, please can contact us on Patient.Experience@stockport.nhs.uk with your details (name, date of birth, contact number) and we can direct your concern to the appropriate team for a response.

In the meantime, I will highlight your concerns with the Divisional Lead who can ensure staff are made aware of these and can address in their team discussions.

Kind regards,

Aoife Isherwood
