I was referred to gynaecology in Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Scotland via urgent referral. I was informed that an urgent referral takes up to 6 weeks. I am now going into week 8 and they still haven’t looked at my referral according to my GP. I may have ovarian cancer. My symptoms are getting worse by the day and my anxiety is through the roof due to having a family history of cancer.
My biggest fear is that the hospital leaves it too long to see me and complete the surgery required, leaving my husband, 4 daughters and 4 grandchildren without the glue that holds our family together. I am appalled that no one from the hospital has been in touch to even state that they have received my referral. I feel that NHS FVRH need to sort themselves out and provide women with the urgent care that they require before it’s too late.
